Table on back gives needle & thread numbers suitable for 15 different sewing machines (Grover & Baker, New American, Remington, Singer, Victor, Weed, etc.) for 6 different types of sewing (coarse work, heavy work, ordinary sewing, fine sewing, finer work, finest work). Singer Professional Buttonholer for slant-needle zig-zag sewing machines, with plate 383013 (furnished) for use on 700 900 & 2000 series machines, complete in original box with instruction booklet. Was used 4 or 5 times (successfully) on an Athena 2000. With it you can make straight buttonholes, eyelet-end buttonholes, purl-edge buttonholes, bound button holes & eyelets at your chosen length & stitch width. $7.50 s
"Something Useful to Remind You / of BLUE BEACON COAL" circa-1939 advertising folder from The Dayton Builders Supply Company (selling it exclusively in Dayton Ohio), a sewing kit within that still contains 4 of the original Dix and Rands High Grade Sharps needles. Sized a little less than a regular-size postcard. While we found nothing like this when we searched the Internet, we did find 1939 newspaper ads for the coal, which supplies our estimate for the age. $12.50 so(d) NEW / NY / BAGO
